In my case, I have a hardware problem on my laptop that causes Windoze
to BSOD after a few minutes of use - this happens even in safe mode.
The resulting filesystem damage soon made things even worse.

Linux is FAR more tolerant of the situation, and can run for days.

Even on the rare occasions that Linux succumbs, I can use the Big Red
Switch fairly safely thanks to ReiserFS...

The only thing I miss is a NetMeeting clone and support for my WebCam.
This may sound trivial, but I immigrated to the USA last year, and all
my friends and family are the other side of the Atlantic. NetMeeting
sure is cheaper than the International call rates for telephoning the
UK...

Oh yes, and support for the scanner capabilities of my Canon BJC-80
printer...

Other than that, Linux rules supreme here.

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing...

I just wish I'd had a camera to take a snap of the Boss's face #;-D
