I know that this is not the KDE list but I have gotten no responce from
them and since L-M must have someone in charge of KDE for L-M I thought
that I would ask here. Please, if you don't know the answer, try point me
to the person who does. Thanks
There was a thread here shortly after KDE 2.1 was released about what some
users considered a bug with KDE and Netscape and others considered a
feature.
< putting on FLAME suit now >
It is not possible from OUTSIDE of Netscape to open Netscape and then, like
the Alt-N feature INSIDE Netscape, open another window of Netscape while
retaining the original Netscape.. This shows up in most email readers. If I
"click-on" an embedded link, Netscape opens. If I "click-on" another
embedded link the original Netscape closes and a NEW Netscape opens, which
looses the first Netscape and the page it was displaying. Netscape does not
even "change pages", it shuts down and reloads. This is very, very slow.
This is NOT the "normal" way Netscape acts in any other desktop that I have
tried. It was NOT like this in KDE 1.1.2 or 2.0, or 2.0.1, or 2.2betax
series.
This has been reported but, so far, other than a reply from an email robot
nothing has been said about his from the KDE folks.
Would anyone else know if this bug is being addressed? If the KDE people
REALLY feel that KDE/Netscape should act like this at least they could put
in a switch to select or not select this behavior for those of us that
DON't think
this should be normal behavior..That would be an acceptable solution.
