[expert] VMware 2.4 release candidate

hello all

I notice on the VMware website that they have a new version to support 2.4.x 
kernels. Anyone experimented with this yet? (I've just downgraded to LM 7.2 
after failing to get VMware working with 8.0, and don't want to upgrade again 
until I'm sure it'll work).

Experiences, pro and con, gratefully received.
