Hi,

Are you ready for install the Mandrake in whole notebook ?
I mean, is there all hard disk used to install Mandrake ?

I have problem for a dual boot machine in my notebook, after
install 8.0 version.

If just success to install it in whole notebook, please send email to this list.
I think if install in whole notebook, over 95% chance will success.

But I failed in a dual boot environment.

All components in my notebook are supported by linux.

I tried Mandrake 7.1 , 7.2 and no any problem.

First part of the harddisk is Wins98. The remain part is space for Linux.

All successfully to install Mandrake 8.0, but just cannnot boot up.

The errors :

Linux................................................
No setup signature........

Linux...............................................
Invalid uncompress format.....

The most lucky trial is :

the boot step go to --> INIT .......................... but just hang.

Anyone have idea ?

Please advice.

Is the kernel 2.4.2 problem ?

I use the downloaded 2 cd.

Of cource I consider to buy full set.

If not enough information, please reply this email.

Regards,
Leo
