Hello Mandrake..
I'm having a strange issue with mounting my local files systems under 2.4.x and
the latest version of e2fsprogs.
During boot I get the following (Typed in by hand...)
Checking filesystem
/dev/hda5: clean, 24/12048 files, 3300/48132 blocks
Mounting local filesystems
Checking loopback filesystems/dev/hda5 is mounted. Cannot continue, aborting.
I then get the Control-D message.
My current workaround is to set /etc/fstab to 0 and not have the partitions
fsck'd at boot..
/dev/hda5 /boot ext2 noatime 1 0 <--!!
/dev/hda8 /usr ext2 noatime 1 0
/dev/hda9 /nt ext2 noatime 1 0
I suspect this may be an issue with e2fsck as it happens when trying to boot
either 2.2.17 or 2.4.0
An email Theodore Tso maintainer of e2fsck revealed that this issue was related to the
latest rc.sysinit script.
This issue has been resolved by using an older version of your rc.sysint script.
Here is the rc.sysinit which does not cause the error. It might be a good idea for
you guys to identify these script with a version #
