Dear Hoyt,
Thankyou for the helping hand.
I am here with attaching the XF86Config-4.
I have few more doubts which I put forward:
I have LM8.0, on 800MHz, 256MB RAM, 20 GB disk, Matrox G450 32 MB RAM
(officially)
and other requirements:
Just out of curiousity I checked the hardware with HARDDRAKE:
Everything else were fine, except for Matrox CARD,
it was giving
g400, 16MB Video RAM...instead of G450 , 32MB as expected...I am
surprised..
what should I conclude:
a) was I cheated by the vendor ?
b) do I have to do something with the CARD so that I will
access 32MB RAM instead of 16MB VRAM.
c) I hope I can rely on the HARDDRAKE
d) My graphics is not FAST ,,,,I mean the way Matrox 32 MB is expected to
work.
e) My machine crashes if I startx -- :2 or some other X server...
f) I am unable to play quake III... ( demo version) in the sense
frame/frame movement...
can you suggest something about these things....
I would be really glad for the help.
Thaankyou very much.
Prasad.
PS: I downloaded the mtx-drv.o from the matrox homepage and replaced with
that in LM 8.0.
Happy Day,
Prasad, B.V.L.S.,
