It's just a defensive link, in case we missed one of the calls to software 
manager under another name.  You will also find rpmdrake there if you look, 
but the fact is they have been merged into a new package, called software 
manager and been given a number of improvements.  RpmDrake can now work 
without requiring a 50GHz processor to finish its task before the final 
collapse....  MandrakeUpdate can now work a lot more reliably, though it 
still needs work in some circumstances, particularly when removing and 
installing packages in the same job.
