in ~ look for the local menu file (.) and any .adding-by-menudrake files and 
erase them.  Also wipe out /etc/menu (files inside that dir)  but leave 
/etc/menu-methods untouched.  Then run update-menus -v

This sort of problem takes effort to avoid in 7.2, because there is always 
the tendency to click the X in the upper corner before update finishes when 
using menudrake.  In 8.0 this action is covered by a "ShowBusyCursor"
