I've gotten the performance back up to more acceptable levels by
using an rsize and wsize of 1024 (26000 kbit/sec). If I use 2048,
I get 32600 kbit/sec.  SCPing, I can get 50000 kbit/sec.  The network 
should support a theoretical max of 100000 kbit/sec.

However, when I try 4096 (the default), the performance drops like a
brick in shallow water.  I use a 630Mb iso image for benchmarking.
