hy!
I did Interactive-Bastile and set up everything. www,
pop3,smtp,irc,everything works fine. I also have a win client who shares
my cable connect with masquerading which works fine too on eth0.
But I need to allow icmp echo requests from my proxy server (if i dont answer
the ping requests downloads get slower and slower with time, and smtp is
blocked for 5 seconds if the ping isnt answered).
So in the config file I have:
ICMP_ALLOWED_TYPES="destination-unreachable echo-reply time-exceeded"
i also have
REJECT_METHOD="REJECT"
not deny,
but after several port scans i know my box wont answer any ping requests,
they're just denied! what can i do? (i did restart bastille).
i includen the config file in this mail.
The best would be to deny all requests but answer ping requests from my
proxy...
thank you!
regards,
philipp
