I guess I'm dense. I can set a date stamp with the following syntax: touch -d 0326 filename which gets me 26 March 2001. This is OK if I want only to set day and month. If I want a specific hour or year, no matter what numerical value I supply, touch returns 'invalid date format'. man touch gives no examples. What's the secret? -- Felix Miata
