Hello,
I have an HP 6200 scanner (Identified as HP 6270 3846), connecte by an Adaptec
SCSI 2940 card. The scanner hardware tests out properly and works under
Windows, it is configured and checked per all SANE recommendations, and has on a
few occasions been able to successfully scan images under Linux (Mandrake 8.0).
To initiate the scanner:
find-scanner <finds the scanner at /dev/sga, mapped to /dev/sg0>
scanimage -L <does not find the scanner this time>
scanimage -L <finds the scanner this time>
Now scanimage > test.pnm or scanimage -d hp:/dev/sga > test.pnm produces the
However, most of the time, and now all of the time, the scanner produces the
following error message:
sane_read: Error during device I/O
While trying to read under XSANE:
Error during read: Error during device I/O
I've tried all the help files and documentation that I can find, and am not
sure if this should go to the expert or newbie listserves, so I'm sending it to
both. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you! - Andy Lazarewicz
