well, why I dont have to do that, I usually
rpm --rebuild source.rpm ; it will extract soucre, run
configure or whatever , make it and buil rpm binary
package put it in /usr/src/RPM/.....; I only run rpm
-ivh for the newly built package then.
May be it is needed to install the rpm-build package
