i have legacy ISA & PCI modules, but wish to use mdk8. i thought that selecting 2.2.19 would have been sufficient, but trying to insmod gives me compiled for 2.4.3 message. over-riding with -f allows the modules to load and be used. i copied the kernel source tree into /usr/src/linux for the header files. as a consequence, i tried to rebuild kernel-2.2.19-10 source package, this failed with a missing config file. i wonder if it is modutils giving the error message? basically how do you get mdk8 to use 2.2.19 in all aspects, compared to a 7.1 based system?
