Hi Nick,

try the command "poweroff". If it does not help, check your kernel
configuration: Some BIOSes want to have "use real-mode APM calls to power
off", the others ( AFAIK the most ) definitely do not want it ( my computer
( with an ASUS K7V board ) used to reboot with this feature enabled ).
