Hi all. I have successfully run FP with various other MDK distributions,
but I am having no luck with 8. I concatenated the conf files
(httpd, commonhttpd, Vhosts) as the fp_install script was too dumb to
handle them separately, but it still bombs trying to install on a web named
"." All of the FP junk is there in the web, and it adds the ScriptAlias
lines to the conf files, but it does not work.
Under /u/l/frontpage I run fpsrvadmin and install on a virtual host, and
again it reports successful installation, but again it does not work. I
just get a message in FP saying to contact the sys admin, but the only log
information that I can find are these entries in the apache log:

I installed the mod_frontpage RPM as well with no happy outcome.
I have given thought to trying the 2002 (v5) extensions, but it wants to
replace the httpd binary with its own generic binary and I don't know if
that would mess up other parts of the installation (namely php and perl).
Any advice on installing either v4 or v5 of the FP extensions under
Mandrake would be much appreciated.
