Ok, guys, thank you by detailed answers... In fact, RAM amount is not the problem to me (yet...). Maybe I didn't explain myself rightly: I want to make a ramdisk and put a database inside it (yes, it is Firebird 8-)) in order to know the ramdisk technology... *Maybe* I turn this funcionality in production, and yes, making hard copies to disk at some intervals...
