[expert] pthread in glibc?

Hi. Is pthread a component of glibc? I need at
least pthread 0.8 for building a
Go!Zilla-like download utility called nt.

I don't know how to verify if it's in my sytem.
I've tried 'rpm -q' and it returned that I don't have
pthread. I then ran a search for pthread on
rpmfind.net, which yielded a list of glibc
distros.
