The kernel has drivers for parallel port ATAPI tapes, support for a dozen or
more parport protocols, and parport is in /dev.
Frank Condron's World of windows, last updated Jan 17, 2000 lists the
Filesafe SideCar and SideCar II as devices for which there are no known Win
95/98 drivers, so this product must have been intended originally for a DOS
or Win 3.x, or OS/2 market. Apparently, there were never any linux drivers
and the product did not comply with any current standards.
As I say, paperweight or part of Dave Null's collection, or a great hobby
project to learn enough about how it works for someone to write a driver.
