Gavin,

There could be a multitude of reasons for this kind of trouble. You
might begin by seeing what port Nessus (whatever the hell that is) is
attempting to use for a connection. You might have firewalled the port
to reject or deny. You might want to look at the status on port 113
(identd). Some servers want to use this port. This does look to be a
problem with some of your ports. I do not use "tiny firewall" but I
write my own rules so I can do adjustments as the need dictates. Try
turning off firewall protection for just a moment or two, and see if
that makes a difference. If it does, then you know it is a firewall
issue, if it does not make a difference, oh well, write back with new
info.....
