hi
using 'sudo' is another way to make a user execute
commands as root or any other user. all you need to do
is add the shutdown command for all the users or
groups that are authorized to run it. no need to
change permissions, etc on any of the unix binaries.
'sudo' is available in rpms and tarballs.
