I have several Macs. One has Linux PPC, and the other two have the newest
versions of yellow dog. I recently acquired(for $100) an immaculate
Powerbook 3400/200 w/128MB RAM, and a 3.5GB harddrive. It has CDROM,
Floppy, and built-in ethernet and modem. Absolutely nothing wrong with this
machine. Anyway enough about the good deal. I set-up a 750MB HFS partition
and installed 8.1 with a couple apps I need for work. I want to install
Linux on the rest. Has anyone tried it, and do you forsee any problems? I
really need to know is is worth it to download the Mandrake PPC, or do I
just need to stick my YellowDog 2.0 on there and be happy. If all goes
well, this will become travel machine because My other laptop is just a P166
w/32MB RAM. It has only Linux installed on it's 1.2 GB HDD, and the
floppy/CD are hotswap which I hate. I figure almost 20% faster, quadruple
the RAM and almost 3 times the HDD space (not to mention the NIC and modem
are integrated and I don't have to carry around PCI cards) will make this
tons better for getting some work done. Thanx for any help, and lemme know
what you think!
