I think you might be right in saying something went wrong with the
attempt to upgrade telnet. If it was me, I would uninstall both telnets,
and reinstall the version that you need to have on the machine. Well
that is not entirely true because what I would really do is uninstall
all telnet services, and make sure the latest ssh program is installed.
Just a few thoughts for your perusal...
