With 8.1 coming out there arises the possibility for using KMenuedit for your KDE menu. The entries will not be destroyed IF the user deletes the .menu directory and edits menudrake off the local menu. Menudrake can still be used for system-wide menus, but will disrupt KMenuEdit if ever used for local (user-specific) menus. Again, this is only for the 8.1 Beta and beyond. For 8.0, menudrake is the effective menu editor. With 8.1 you will have a choice of using the KDE and GNOME-specific Menu editors for those two desktops, just as it was possible with GNOME in 8.0.
