Today I tried compiling the avi-xmms plugin (version 1.2.2)...

Anyhow, I got what was needed (SDL, already had avifile, compiled
SDL & installed it, recompiled avifile (0.53.5) and installee it, aned
then went to configure & compile avi-xmms, only to find that it stopped
when looking for some r00taxx function in a r00t library (that seems to
be a scriptkiddie thing???).

When I typed 'make' I got an error early on about it not being able to
cast some void function or something:

c++ -DPACKAGE=\"avi-xmms\" -DVERSION=\"1.2.2\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1
-I. -I. -I/usr/local/include/avifile -I/usr/include/xmms
-I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/local/include
-I/usr/local/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT -I/usr/lib/glib/include -D_REENTRANT
-I/usr/X11R6/include -g -O2 -c  -fPIC -DPIC avi-xmms.cpp -o avi-xmms.lo
avi-xmms.cpp:162: cannot convert `void (*) ()' to `void (*) (int,
unsigned char *, InputVisType)' in initialization

That 'r00taxx' thing really bothers me.
