Hi!
I have a problem with the beta version of Mandrake (8.1b3)
I have a mylex raid controller and when I install it works great but after
finish installation it can't find the root disc.
I have a fix to it though.
When you install it mount the disc as /dev/rd/c0d0p1
when you are finish installing and reboot that device tree are gone.
The new names are /dev/rd/disc0/part1 thus the mount points doesn't really
point at this so you must edit /etc/fstab and put the new devices in...
That my friends are not easy because the boot disc does not work and cd-
boot does not use this.
I did as follows:
1. start Installation program and use expert, go on to you get the disc
selection and use ctrl+alt f2 to drop to shell.
mount the disc mount /dev/rd/c0d0p1 /mnt (if this is /)
cd /mnt/etc
mv fstab fstab.old
echo the right devices in to fstab.
viola...
plz If this isn't the right place to post this plz forgive me.
I just wanted to help!
Best regards
Patrik
