Hellow experts,

The floppy driver on kernel-2.4.8-24mdk
does not work with my new ASUS P4T mb for
Pentium 4. The dmesg contains:
.
.
ide-floppy driver 0.97
Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
floppy0: Floppy io-port 0x03f0 in use
ide-floppy driver 0.97
.
.
Any attemp to mount /dev/fd0 gives the error:
Device does not exist.
The floppy drive itself is not to blame.
I have mounted another drive.
It gives the same error.

The kernel-2.4.8-24mdkBOOT on the installation RC1 CD
works perfectly. In rescue mode the dmesg contains:
.
.
Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
FDC 0 is a National Semiconductor PC87306
.
.
The floppy mounts fine here.

MandrakeSoft: I certainly hope that this problem is corrected
              in the final LM-8.1 version.

I could not access the bug-report page for some reason.
I do not have the time to look into this problem
any further. Can anybody on this list enlighten me, please?
