Hi all, I finially figured out how to shut down gdm and all other servers just to see if I could get it to boot.. so with everything bar system essentials configured off, I restarted.. It goes all the way through and then gives me a blank black screen instead of a console prompt, which is what I was expecting.. In the log was something about reiserfs and a kernel panic, but it keeps going on loading stuff after this... I don't know what started this downhill trend... I was hopin it didn't matter as I would soon be loading MDK8.1 onto this box (already preordered/prepaid).. then I realised that its probably going to be over a month before I get my mandrake powerpack disks over here... so I have ta fix it or reload it.. (don't want to do that as it takes most of a day to reinstall and connfigure everything that was on it.. (plus I had only just set this one up two weeks ago..) any suggestions on how to fix the reiserfs problem and how to find out what the black blank screen is about would be much appreciated... kindest regards Frank
