ok, I upgraded the bios because I am about to get a 1.4 gig athlon, and abit
stated in the bios page that the new bios inproved stability of the 1.4 on
KT7, also it stated that it helped in systems with a creative sb live..
which we all know cause problems with the 686b....

so i upgraded...

I am aware that its not always a wise thing to do.. but an unstable 1.4gig
is a useless 1.4 gig,, so I did it...

I don't think it is the problem, I think the problem is that it has changed
slightly and the drivers need to be removed and reinstalled in linux,, I
just do not know how to do that...

I really didn't understand most of you post, but I'd ask why you
flashed the bios? Many updates are to fix obscure hardware
compatibility problems. IOW's just 'cause the bios is newer doesn't
mean it's better, specially if your hardware is unaffected by the fixes.

So I can only suggest to go thru your bios settings thoroughly.
Often bios updates either reset to default settings, or add/remove some
options. As a last resort you could flash back to your old bios
version. You did save it, right? ;>> FWIW, I've often flashed a
bios only to find out I was better off with the old version.
