Hello!!! I have an Ensoniq 1373 soundcard (es1371 driver).
I had two installs of Mandrake 7.2 on the same computer and for some reason one had ALSA and one didn't. I have now installed Mandrake 8.0 and that uses OSS, and not ALSA. Where in the install program or Mandrake Control Centre, can I choose ALSA? Why did one install have OSS and the other ALSA? In my opinion, it should be the default because after all, OSS Is proprietary and ALSA is fully compatible with OSS and is free. So has Mandrake dropped ALSA support?
