I know. I have the problem with the ASUS P4T MB. As far as I can tell it is caused by the pnp_bios module (when linked into the kernel) obtaining some reserved port adresses from the BIOS. One of these port addresses is 0x3f0 that is used by the floppy driver, which thinks that it has been reserved for some ISA board. Anyway, the problem goes away when I recompile the kernel without linking pnp_bios into the kernel.
I am not sure who to blame: ASUS og the pnp_bios module.... Bjarne
