CAE> Doing an expert install if you toggle to the flat list you can manually CAE> select Every package contained on the 3 cds. CAE> They will not all "play nice" together. CAE> If you said that even on those there are still things which are not installed, CAE> you win the banana. CAE> Do you want an "everything" Desktop, Workstation, or Server installation? CAE> Do you want an "everything" Standard, Enterprise, or SMP kernel installation? CAE> Do you want an "everything" cdrecord installation along with all its clones CAE> and GUIs when you have no CD-RW? CAE> There is room for improvement in the pkg selection process, But an "Everything" CAE> install is not one of them. CAE> Charles (-: I had not tried the flat view in the install, will try that next time :) But still, I guess I will have to be careful what may conflict with what. Actually I am not asking for installing "all the packages", as I had said. I just want the packages that dont cause trouble for the others, available for install in the tree view. Flat view may be something like "use at your own risk", but xmms plugins, games, SDL libraries etc. dont seem to cause any trouble for me, (and a few servers that I put in sleep tru control center).
