Thanks - I'd hate to trash his system trying to get him to switch ;-). Since you mentioned lilo/grub regarding the config file I hope it's safe to assume lilo will work in this regard as well as grub? I understand lilo better cuz I've used it longer and would prefer to use it if possible.
