There are still some apps and configs that won't work in 8.1. I tried to change the SCSI adapter in Harddrake to the correct model number but the change did not occur. And I can't get internet connection sharing working even though it shows enabled and the clients are getting addresses from the DHCP server. And I can ping the LAN address of the server from the client but I can't ping the gateway or the IP address of the wireless card (for my wireless Internet - not intranet) or any web addresses. The config looks the same as it did for 7.2 Anyway, I've had to go in and manually change a lot of stuff to make it work. I'd really hate to have to wipe everything out and start over with a fresh install. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to get away from Windows.
