Thank you because now I won't try till some else tell us something.

I finished tunning a 2.4.13 kernel for my MDK8.1 and I downloaded 
the NVIDIA drivers, but now I won't test them. 
I will stick with the XFREE provided drivers for the time being. 
I very much doubt I can play tuxracer even after upgrading those drivers, it 
is so slow now (about 2 frames per second!) that the improvement should be 
incredibly huge to make it playable.

It is a pity, but I have to say that Linux is still way too young for gaming, 
most of the time is not worth the effort to make it work just to play slower 
than on the Windows version of the game. If someone disagress, please, give 
me a real example! I haven't seen a 3D game at a reasonable speed on Linux 
yet!

(I have a 1Ghz Athlon, 1GB memory with GForceII 32MB, games should fly on 
this machine, as they do on Windows...)
