Well, your problem, apparently, is it took you several times to uninstall telnet-client... why do you want to remove telnet-client if you intend to use telnet? Obviously telnetting to localhost doesn't work... you removed the telnet client! The telnet *server* doesn't include the telnet *client*... that's what telnet-client package is for (which you tried so hard to remove for some reason). Try re-installing... then you will get a program called "telnet" on your system and bash won't give you the "command not found" error (which should have been your first clue that telnet wasn't installed). in.telnetd is not the same as telnet. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED], OpenPGP key available on www.keyserver.net 1024D/FE6F2AFD 88D8 0D23 8D4B 3407 5BD7 66F9 2043 D0E5 FE6F 2AFD - Danen Consulting Services www.danen.net, www.freezer-burn.org - MandrakeSoft, Inc.
