Hi Vincent and all..

I am already using openssh-2.9.9p2-2.1mdk

The previous packages didn't work either, same problem,,, so far the only
ones that work, are the standard 7.2 packages,

and the update packages for 7.2,, I haven't tried lm8 because I have never
used it..

iXplorer is an open source ssh ftp client for windows...
http://i-tree.org/ixplorer.htm its a windows frontend for putty and plink..

its a very handy package and its open source...

because it doesn't currently work with 8.1, whenever I want to copy files
back and forth, I have to put them in a webserver and download them from
server to PC.. which is something of a pain, but I will not enable ftp
because I don't trust it.

in all other respects, 8.1 ssh works fine, its just the iXplorer problem..

Never seen/heard of this problem before, but why don't you try using
2.9.9p2 from updates?
