Reported, the only client that works with the new server protocol, is ickle. You can
check that out at:

http://ickle.sourceforge.net/

I however have not compiled it, it complained about something I didn't have, and I
didn't have the time to find it and fix that problem.

There are no screen shots that I can find, so it may be ugly as all heck, but it
works. Several people on the LICQ mailing list swear by it now.

The CVS version of LICQ works much better, but LICQ 1.0.3 was causing more and more
problems, and Micq appears to have stopped working as well. :0( (I used Micq at
work, now I have to run LICQ 1.0.4 from home over Xwindows.)

Please keep in mind, that LICQ 1.0.4 is a CVS version, and is not released, there may
be problems for you, and you may not even be able to get it compiled. So this is not
a suggestion to download and install the CVS. (Not going to take blame for anybody
killing their machine! lol :0)

 | Ever since the new ICQ version came out with its new protocol licq has
 | gone totally unreliable and flaky.
 |
 | Does anyone know of an ICQ clone that is compatible with the new protocol?
