Hello

I know its not entirely mdk related, more of a good use of mdk, so sorry
for those who have to read this who are not interested.

I have a damaged dvd of a colleague that i wanted to try and recover
with my mdk
machine.
I am unable to mount it in mdk8.1

But as the disk is severely corrupted I am having trouble even reading
any of it.

As I cant mount it, i was thinking of using a linux tool like dd, etc.

"cat /dev/hdc > recovered.bin" fails
and so does the dd command when i try and recover it that way.

windows does not do anything other than blue screen when i try read it.
I get a more reasonable msg from linux at least.

So, my ? is, are there any tools in mdk8.1 that can recover this backup
dvd? or any others on the net?

also another small question, what is the difference between mdk-smp and
mdk-enterprise? some large disk support or something along those lines?

JG
