On 8.0 and 8.1 I had to put an option line specifying the base address as 0x300 (the defaut) in modules.conf before either version would find it. Problem is that the driver needs to be told what its parameters are and does not seem to autoprobe for them. On 7.2 there was no such problem. box is switched off right now so I cant check the syntax.
