Soren: I've done some searching in the past for a suitable Linux 2D/3D package for mechanical drafting and design, but I haven't seen any that has impressed me. The closest I've found is VariCad but, based on the demo version that came with LM 8.0, it's not worth spending $300 to see the "real" package. Of course, your needs may be different than mine. Take a look at: http://lem.ch.unito.it/linux/E/2/ You might also to a Google on "linux cad"; maybe you will have better luck than I did. FWIW, I also ran a search on Sourceforge -- there are quite a few projects, but most of them are still in the earlier stages. I expect that it will be a long time before there is a Linux CAD program that will be able to compete with such programs as AutoCAD or Pro-E. Once upon a time, there were Unix versions of these programs, but they disappeared several years ago. Regards, Carroll
