I recommend giving Sylpheed a try. sylpheed.good-day.net
Quite stable, very fast, and highly configurable. Still under development
(at version 0.6.6) but I've suffered no stability problems what-so-ever in
the time (several months) I've been using it (ever since version 0.5.0)
Mandrake might even want to include it in future versions of its box-sets.
