Not exactly. Certainly /etc/passwd is one of the files associated with
user accounts, but it is not the only one.
/etc/passwd contains basic account information, but if you are using
'shadow' passwords (which you should be), the passwords are stored in
/etc/shadow. Group information is stored in /etc/group and if shadow is
enabled, also /etc/gshadow. All configuration files and boot scripts for
'official' mandrake rpms are stored under /etc.
