don't sweat it, Webmin doesn't need apache, I said it before, but here it is again.
webmin has its own webserver. its own webserver is only via https from its own cert. try going to https://127.0.0.1:10000 and see what happens. if nothing, try this,: service webmin start if its not installed, install it. if that doesn't work for some reason, try this: https://192.168.0.1:10000 (replacing 192.168.0.1 with whatever the ip of your network card is. IF you are still not getting anywhere, turn off the proxy settings in your browser (are you trying to do it remotely or on the same machine that webmin is one? either will work. but proxy's don't like the webmin cert and some won't let it through. start swat from within webmin in the samba section and it too will be using https I think.. give all that a shot.. its easy, it works, its fast, and its secure and you won't look back. rgds Frank -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ken Nowack Sent: Thursday, 3 January 2002 10:28 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [expert] samba and SWAT and webmin and MCC > Check this link: > http://fi.samba.org/samba/docs/swat_ssl.html Well, thats somewhat informative, but..... Apparently doesn't apply to mandrake, either that or mandrake has it's packages in all different locations, or (most likely explanation) my system is installing packages in weird paths just to spite me and make me feel stupid. I can't find any mention at all in any of my openssl docs regarding stunnel....The directory /usr/share/docs/packages doesn't exist...in fact, I don't find any stunnel anything on my comp. With that said, why has my computer smitten me so? Is everyones life like this or just me? Ken __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
