It can also mean that we have trouble understanding your question or 
inadequate information to answer, or you are using something none of us 
have seen before...  With more than 3000 packages in the downloadable 
version of the distro, that is becoming more prevalent.

But questions with a little history do tend to get answered better. 
Overkill on information is also something that will delay answers, so 
try to strike a happy medium, cause an answereer will try to read and 
understand all the information given on the chance that it might be 
relevant.

It is also helpful sometimes to go spelunking in the archive caverns.  I 
don't answer questions about the bastardized fake hardware RAIDs any 
longer because I have done it 50 times or more, and all of us have 
answered one category one time too many--a different category for every 
helper, most probably.

Now I don't take time off from work to do this.  I do this to take a 
break from work, so I try to steer myself away from things I happen to 
be working on.  No one on this list is really obligated to help.  They 
are here because they want to help.
