I don't think it is that exactly, Reiser works just as great on my MDK system as it does on SuSE. It seems to me the main problem is just that RedHat has stuck it's head in the sand with Ext3 just like it has with GNOME. I'm sure if RH really wanted Reiser to work, they could make it work just as well SuSE and Mandrake.
