Just so everyone knows, /etc/mtab is recreated every time you boot your
system (or mount/unmount a filesystem, like a cdrom or floppy or smb
share), and simply shows currently mounted filesystems. It is not used
for configuration purposes, and any changes you make manually will be
lost if/when the system re-writes the file.
