Hello,

I'am using Mandrake 8.0 with a 2.4.8 linux kernel (no Mandrake kernel)
and I have serval problems with quotas.

At first I had to notice that the tools package for Mandrake 8.0
didn't created the needed files (quota.user or aquota.user).
After installing another source version (3.03) the files was created.

But I can't get the quota to work.
When I set a quota for a user, this user can happily outrun the quota,
without restriction of any kind.

Here is an entry for a testuser (for example):

Disk quotas for user testuser (uid 6522):
Filesystem blocks soft hard inodes soft hard
/dev/sda8 0 0 0 0 0 0
/dev/sda7 260 100 150 16 0 0

Quota stats say me this:

root@mailserv:/var/spool/mail/input# quotastats
Kernel quota version: old
..
..
..

This tell me that the kernel use the old(?) quota format.

Can this cause the problem ?
How I get the quota to work ?

Any hint will be welcome.

regards
Oliver

Supplement:
Where can I find more information.
I read the quota-howto and the man pages but this didn't solve all my quota related
problems ?
