Hi all, I am new to Mandrake although not new to Linux.
Using software manager, Mandrake does not ask for the correct cd when needed, it just says the rpm or tgz cannot be found. I have 2 cd rom drives, one is a sony burner and the other a pioneer DVD player. I have installed twice and both times have had the same problem. When i install the os, it is off the sony drive (Master) and all goes well. After the os is running, whenever i go i\to install another program, the dvd drive opens, requestng the cd not the sony drive. Normally this would not be a problem but my dvd drive is half dead and only reads and plays dvds. if i delete the software sources and add them again from the correct drive, it then doesnt automount and i have to manually mount and umount the drive to get the sources acknowledged or use the cdrom at all and even then Mandrake doesnt ask for the correct cd, it still errors. thanks for listening, all hints appreciated :) -Matt ------------------------------------------------------- Core Networks BH:+61 3 97506642 AH: 0407836506 Computer Sales & Service Network Installations & Service Consolidating Internet access company wide, reduces costs! ask us how!! ========================================================
