Well worth the $ especially considering that it has onboard 5.1 sound and nic. 8.1 installed without a blink. You will not be able to use or even install 7.2 with this board, if for no other reason than the dual Promise ide controllers; one set straight ATA100 and the other can be jumpered for either ATA or Raid. 8.0 should be Ok but you might as well move up to 8.1.
